CHECKPOINT 5 – UI

For this week’s checkpoint, I have added some UI elements that improve the experience of playing the game:

- Title screen with PLAY button and HOW TO PLAY button (the content is yet to be updated).

- Basic recipe book UI

- Basic money UI

- Game over screen with PLAY AGAIN button (this screen will also show end score)

Soon, I will also work on a dialog/ text UI to show when an ingredient is added onto the equipment. This is necessary as a part of the feedback that I got from the game testing that was held on Friday.

After the game testing, I have fixed:

- pausing the game when recipe book is opened

- adjusting the position of potato label that was not quite visible due to overlapping with timer UI

I have also tried to simplify the gameplay by pressing same key when grabbing the ingredients and starting the cooking process, but I have not got that worked. When I am about to start the cooking process, the player will instead grab the ingredients back on to the shelf. I will keep trying to fix this in the remaining time.
